After enjoying the sunrise and Himalayan view, take a transport to Telkot which is our hiking starting point to Changu Narayan Temple. It is perched on a hilltop overlooking the valley. Dating back to the 4th century, this temple is believed to be Nepal’s oldest and is adorned with intricate wood and stone carvings. Stroll the temple courtyard with your guide, who will illuminate the stories of Hindu deities and explain the significance of this lesser-known UNESCO gem. The temple offers a glimpse of traditional life, adding a serene cultural touch to your journey. After exploring Changu Narayan drive back to kathmandu in midday.

The sunrise tour begins with Pickup Time: 4:00–5:30 AM, depending on the season. We will inform you of your exact pickup time one day prior to the departure. The experience is available in both Group and Private options, with or without the hike to Changu Narayan. A lunch box is included for all full-day options.

Difficulty Level - Moderate

Nagarkot Day Hiking is difficult to navigate without an offline map. Google does not have a lot of the routes listed. If you have an offline map, it should be easy to navigate. Physically, this is not a very difficult day hiking. You will go down some steep descents, so trekking poles are recommended to take pressure off your knees. This is a good hike for beginners and should be easy as long as you are in decent shape.

Pick up from your hotel around 4:00-5:00 am early in the morning depanding on the season. Drive to Nagarkot will takes about 1:30 hrs. Enjoy the sunrise and Himalayan view. Sunny breakfast is served, followed by a hike to Changunarayan. Our hiking guide escorted you for a day hike about 3- 4 hours to Changunarayan via Telkot.  We serve you lunch in Changunarayan. After lunch, we drive back to Kathmandu

If you wish to do a slightly longer hike, you can continue from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel. This section takes around 5–6 hours and offers beautiful countryside views, local villages, terraced fields, and mountain scenery along the way.

Essential Information

Meals

Trekking Plus serves you verities of wonderful Nepalese and Continental food during day hiking. We serve you local cuisines for breakfast and lunch which is included in our package cost. Trekking Plus guide will suggest you a delicious, hygienic with special food during your trip. Normally it takes few days’ hard work to local porters and caravans to bring food to mountains. We usually have breakfast at hotel in Nagarko and lunch will be served on the way to Dhulikhel. 

Drinking water

We will get mineral water and boiled water along the trekking routes which is also an additional cost. We discourage not to buy Mineral bottle water but use boiled water from the local lodges and put water purify tablets. Plastic bottles are difficult to dispose off and have become an environmental problem in mountains.

What to take

Trekking Plus would suggest you to pack as lightly as possible when you are on mountain. We provide one porter between two trekkers to carry your trekking gears. You will be carried your valuable things in a day pack by your own and your other bags will be carried by the porter in a duffel bag which we provided.  Porter carries about 25 KG from 2 trekkers. You can store you’re your luggage which you are not going to use it on trek can leave in Kathmandu Hotel which is free of cost.
