This trek is popular because of the great views and because it can be done in a short time. Starting from Tikhedhunga, the Ghorepani trek follows the ridge of the beautiful Modi Khola. Then it crosses the Gurung villages and rice fields. It is a steep climb to Ulleri from Tikhedhunga, and it walks through the rhododendron and oak forest to the Ghorepani.

Poon Hill is the famous viewpoint in the lower Annapurna region and is known for a quick trek with fantastic views of mountains. The most highlight of this trek is early morning hike up to Poon Hill is wonderful, and you can see the Himalayan views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nilgiri, Fishtail, Manaslu, Lamjung, Chulu Peak, and the beautiful green hill vistas of the surrounding areas. Poonhill hike early in the morning, then head to Tadapani again through the rhododendron forest. Ghandruk and Landruk are another beautiful villages, is also known as the village of Gurkhas. The costumes and culture of the local people are fabulous.

Day 1

Drive from Pokhara (826 m./ 2,624 ft.) to Hile (1,948m./ ​​6,391ft.) and trek to Ulleri ( 2,070m / 6,791 ft), Distance: 4.4 km, 3-4 hrs walk.

After breakfast in Pokhara, you will drive to Hile in a private vehicle. It takes about 2:30 hrs drive from Pokhara. The trek begins from here. The route ascends through dense forests of rhododendron to Ulleri. Passing through sub-tropical forests, river banks and villages, the trek will take about 3-4 hrs walk from Hile to arrive in Ulleri.

Day 2

Trek to Ghorepani ( 2,874 m / 9,429 ft.), Distance: 8 km, about 5-6 hrs walk.

Today's destination is Ghorepani. Soon after leaving Ulleri, we’ll trek through the dense rhododendron forest. In spring, the forest becomes vibrant with blooming rhododendron. Before reaching Ghorepani, we’ll pass the small village of Banthati and Nangethati. Ghorepani is a big Magar village famous for its incredible view of the Annapurna range, preserved culture and unique housing pattern. That night we’ll stay in Ghorepani.

Day 3

Hike to Poon Hill ( 3,210 m /10,531 ft. ) and trek to Tadapani ( ​​​​​​​2,630m / 8,600ft. ), 3 km and 12 km, 5-6 hrs walk.

It depends on the season but normally you wake up early, around 5 a.m., or your guide will inform you about the time. Our guide will escort you for the sunrise and mountain view at Poon Hill. Pretty much walking over stairs so if you have a problem in your knees, it's better to carry your hiking poles. It takes about 45 to 1 hour to reach Poon Hill from Ghorepani. Enjoy the sunrise, Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna ranges, Dhaulagiri ranges, Tukuche peak, and amazing landscapes. We’ll then return to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue our trek to Tadapani. Total trekking time that day is likely to be around 5-6 hours.

Day 4

Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk Village ( 2,012 m. / 6,601 ft.), Distance: 7 km, 4-5 hrs walk.

After breakfast, we’ll descend to the big Gurung village of Ghandruk. Almost the entire trail today is covered by dense forest enriched with wild flora and fauna. The way to Ghandruk from Tadapani is quite peaceful and during the springtime, it's beautiful with flowers. You’ll still get wonderful views of the mountains including Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna South and Himalchuli. Ghandruk is a cultural village with a preserved and traditional lifestyle. Upon arrival, you’ll get the chance to explore the village and converse with the locals. We’ll then have an overnight stay in Ghandruk.

Day 5

Trek from Ghandruk to Tolka via Landruk (1,700 m/5,577 ft), Distance: 10 km, 5-6 hrs walk.

After breakfast, we start descending down from Ghandruk to Modi Khola and start to climb up to Landruk village (1,545m) a pretty big village inhabited by a mixed community of Gurung, Magar, and Brahmin as well. Now the trail gently ascends to Tolka (1,700m.). Stay overnight.

Day 6

Trek from Tolka to Kande ( 1700m /5,577 ft ) via Australian Camp (2,100m/6,560ft), then drive to Pokhara.

The path is decorated with forests, birds, ferns, and orchids. After crossing another suspension bridge, you will climb to Bheri Kharka and land at top of the hill, Deurali (2010m/6595 ft). It gives great views of mountains which are also visible in the Pokhara valley. You will also pass another popular Pothana village which has a tourist check post. Then, walk towards Australian Camp, where people come for camping under the amazing view of the Himalayas. Until you reach the main highway, Kande, you will walk downhill through the rhododendron forest. You will drive to Pokhara from Kande.

Best Time to Trek Ghorepani Ghandruk Circuit Trek

The spring season ( March, April and May ) would be great because of the rhododendrons bloom. In spring time you will get to enjoy the variety of flowers along the trail, including blooming Rhododendron forests. While trekking towards Tadapani, the disney world of fairy tale forests makes this trek quite nice and beautiful. Trekkers can enjoy snow to play in winter months and until early spring season. Together typical local culture of Gurung, Magar and other ethnical groups and their traditional hill terraced farmland.

It is important to note that the best time to trek in this region is from March to May (spring) and September to November (autumn). During these seasons, the weather is mild and clear, making for an enjoyable and safe trekking experience. The spring season, in particular, is known for its beautiful blooming rhododendron forests, adding to the already breathtaking scenery.
