Nagarkot is very close to the Kathmandu and the most popular hill station for early morning sunrise and panoramic Himalayan views. It is situated 32km north-east of Kathmandu Valley and can be reached by car in one and half hours.
We start early in the morning from kathmandu is better to see the sunrise and Himalayan view for the day trip to Nagarkot. If you are going to stay overnight in Nagarkot than you can start after noon from kathmandu. Trekking Plus offers three different options for Day Hiking to Nagarkot.
During the 4 hours of walk you will pass through the local villages of Palbari & Kattike, sceneries of beautiful terraces which will provide you the chance to experience the real Nepali people and their culture.
On a clear day you will get a chance to see long range of mountains and Mt. Everest too from Nagarkot. It’s a great idea to break your looking at those magical views and finally see the sunset over Kathmandu valley and drive back to Kathmandu.

Option 1. Itinerary
07:30 AM - Breakfast in your hotel
08:00 AM - Drive to Sankhu
09:00 AM - Start hiking from Sankhu
12:00 PM – Stop for drinks break in Kattike
01:30 PM – Reach Nagarkot and have lunch
Around 06:00 PM – Watch sunset and drive back to Kathmandu
Option 2. Itinerary
Pick up from your hotel around 4:30 am early in the morning and drive 1:30 hour to Nagarkot
Enjoy sunrise and Himalayan view.
Sunny breakfast is served and hike to Changunarayan. Our hiking guide escorted you for day hike about 4 hours to Telkot or Changunarayan.
We serve you a lunch in Changunarayan. After lunch, we drive back to Kathmandu.
Option 3. Itinerary
We pick you up from your hotel around 4:30 am and drive 1:30 hour to Nagarkot
Enjoy sunrise and Himalayan view.
Sunny breakfast is served and hike to from Nagarkot and start to hike 5-6 hrs to Dhulikhel.
Enjoy late lunch in Dhulikhel and drive back to Kathmandu around 5 PM.
