  • Day 01: Fly to Paro and then transfer to Thimphu
    Drive: 1-hour drive, Max Altitude: 2,320 m, Thimphu

    Upon your arrival, our Bhutan tour guide will receive you from the Paro International Airport. From the Paro International Airport, you’ll travel to Thimphu, a capital city of Bhutan.

    on the way to Thimphu, we will see the beautiful glimpse of Paro Chhu (river). On an arrival at Thimphu city, you’ll check into the respective hotel. After the refreshment, if you’ve time you can explore the near places around the city. Overnight at Paro.

  • Day 02: Drive from Thimphu to Punakha
    Drive: about 3 hours, Max Altitude: 1,250 m, Punakha
    Highlights: National Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Lhakhang Temple

    After early breakfast, you’ll visit the National Memorial Chorten built in the memory of the third king of Bhutan. It is located in the heart of Thimphu city. Afterward, you’ll also visit Changangkha Lhakhang Temple which was built by Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck (the queen mother of Dragon). This temple is located above central Thimphu which was built in 12th century by Lama Phajo Drugom Zhigpo. This temple holds some religious belief like local parents traditionally come here to get auspicious names and blessings for their newborns.

    Later having some refreshment, you’ll continue to Punakha via Dochula Pass (3,140 m). In the clear spring sky, at Dochula, you can enjoy a great panoramic view of mountain range. Some beautiful mountain name includes Masagang, Terigang, Kangphugang, Tsendagang, Jejegangphugang, Zongphugang, and finally Gangkar Puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan. Punakha used to be a former capital of Bhutan until 1955 and the capital was moved to Thimphu.

  • Day 03: Punakha to Phobjikha
    Drive: about 3 hours, Max Altitude: 3,300 m, Phobjikha
    Highlights: Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, endangered Black Necked Cranes

    After breakfast we regulate our journey to Gangtey or Phobjikha a wide and beautiful valley. It is named after hilltop village and its Gangte monastery. It is also part of the beautiful Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park formerly known as Black Mountains National Park. A quiet and remote Phobjikha valley is also the winter home of endangered black-necked cranes. They migrate from the arid plains of Tibet in the north to pass the winter months in a milder climate.

    Enjoying the surrounding hills and mountain views you are expected to reach Phobjikha in the evening. If time permits, then you can explore the Phobjikha valley one of the untouched regions in Bhutan.

  • Day 04: Explore Phobjikha or Gangtey
    The valley of Phobjikha is well known as the winter home of the Black necked crane (Grus Nigricollis). Bhutan is home to around six hundred black-necked cranes with Phobjikha being one of the popular places that the birds migrate to in the winter months from the Tibetan plateau. The elegant and shy birds can be observed from early November to end of March. Overlooking the Phobjikha valley is the Gangtey Goempa. This is an old monastery that dates back to 17th century.
  • Day 05: Gangtey to Paro
    Paro Valley - The beautiful valley is home to many of Bhutan’s old monasteries and temples. The country’s only Airport is in Paro. The valley is also home to mount Chomolhari (7,300 meters) situated at the northern end of the valley whose glacier water forms the Pachu flowing through the valley. The following are some of the prominent places to visit in Paro.

    Paro Dzong - Also known as Rinpung Dzong, this 15th century massive fortress/monastery, is also the administrative center of the dzonkhag.

    Ta Dzong - Built as a watch tower the Ta Dzong, it was converted into the National Museum in 1968. The museum boasts antique Thangka, textiles, weapons and armour, household objects and rich assortment of natural and historic artifacts.

  • Day 06: Explore Paro
    Taktsang Monastery - A one hour hike to the cafeteria is also a vantage view whereby you can enjoy the stunning view of the monastery. Prayer flags adorn the cliffs and this is also where Guru Padmasambhava landed on the back of a tigress in the 8th century.

    Drukgyal Dzong - A morning drive, north of Paro valley brings us to the ruins of Drukgyal Dzong. Built in 1647 by the great Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, father and unifier of medieval Bhutan, the Dzong was destroyed by an accidental fire and left in ruins as an evocative reminder of the great victories it was built to commemorate.Explore the ramparts and relive the memories of a glorious past.

    Kyichu Lhakhang - After a sumptuous local lunch, we will retrace our steps to visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan.
  • Day 07: Departure from Paro
    Today we will bid fond farewell to this beautiful Himalayan country and take an early to Nepal.
